I absolutely love the holidays! Driving through town and seeing the festive holiday decorations on businesses and homes is one of my favorite traditions. For me, the moment the decorations go up is when the holiday season truly begins.
In all honesty, my favorite part of the holidays is simply decorating. Whether it’s Halloween, Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, or one of the many smaller holidays throughout the year, you can be sure I have plenty of seasonal decor for each occasion! I enjoy spending time planning how to decorate, deciding which rooms to transform, and finding creative ways to bring each holiday to life. It’s a bigger part of the holiday season for me than just about any other tradition.
In recent years, though, I’ve noticed a decline in decorations around town, and it sometimes feels like the holiday spirit I remember from childhood is slowly slipping away. I completely understand why. Many coworkers, friends, and family members have shared their struggles with finding the time or energy to decorate like they used to. Life gets busy, and the holidays can sometimes become just another source of stress.
Still, it’s sad to see that sense of excitement and community fade.
